Chris Thomas Airshows provides an approximately 12-minute airshow performance featuring the North American SNJ-2, a former WWII Navy Advanced Training Aircraft.

Spectator Experience 

The SNJ offers a great spectator experience with its large physical size, beautiful radial engine sound and fantastic smoke presentation.  The SNJ was nicknamed “Ol Growler” because of its distinct deep and throaty roar – nothing else sounds like it.    The routine is filled with loops, aileron rolls, barrel rolls, an Immelmann and ½ Cuban Eights to highlight the beauty and grace of the WWII era training maneuvers that are still utilized today.  

Uniquely, Chris performs a few maneuvers not usually associated with SNJ and T-6 airshow performances, such as a loop with a roll on top, Deary turns and Humpty-Bumps with ¼ and ½ vertical rolls.  This adds a greater variety of maneuvers to enhance the presentation spectator experience.
